Siliguri, May 08 (Siliguri Journal) – During daylight hours, robbers targeted a doctor’s home in Siliguri, creating concern among locals. The theft took place in the Gurung Basti area of Ward No. 03 under the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC).
According to reports, Dr. Rajen Pradhan, an eye specialist, and his wife left their home around 10 a.m. on Tuesday for errands, leaving the house empty. Seizing the opportunity, a group of culprits forcibly entered Dr. Pradhan’s house by breaking the main door. Inside, they broke open a locker, taking around Rs 2 lakh in cash and gold jewelry worth approximately Rs 5 lakh.
The theft was discovered when Dr. Pradhan’s wife returned home at around 2 p.m. to find the door open and the locker tampered with. They immediately filed a complaint at the Pradhan Nagar police station. Police responded promptly, arriving at the scene to launch an investigation into the unsettling incident.
