Dev Reacts to BJP Worker’s ‘Jai Shri Ram’ Chant at Bagdogra Airport

Siliguri, Apr 23 (Siliguri Journal) – During the busy Lok Sabha election period, an interesting moment happened at Bagdogra Airport in Siliguri. A BJP worker chant “Jai Shri Ram,” and Dev Adhikari, an actor and TMC MP, responded positively.

Reports indicate that Dev, a two-time MP and current contestant for the Lok Sabha from Ghatal, has been vigorously campaigning for the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in different parts of West Bengal. On Tuesday, he arrived at Bagdogra Airport for an election campaign in Raiganj and Balurgat. While there, a BJP worker chanted “Jai Shri Ram.” Dev, in response, approached the worker, embraced him, and extended his greetings.

Speaking to the media, Dev stressed the need for unity, highlighting the importance of placing nationality above religion and political affiliation. He lamented the divisive tactics employed by political leaders and emphasized the importance of national progress regardless of which party emerges victorious. Dev also referenced the 2019 elections and expressed optimism regarding this year’s election results.

The BJP worker who chanted “Jai Shri Ram” clarified that he was chanting slogans wherever he went to mark the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.
