Siliguri, May 11 (Siliguri Journal) – In a heartwarming gesture, Mahima Pal, a student at Hakim Para Girls’ School in Siliguri, was recently honored for her outstanding achievement in the Higher Secondary exams. Despite facing financial challenges, Mahima secured the top position in her school with an impressive score of 466 marks.
The recognition came from Ashighar Outpost OC Prasenjit Dey Sarkar and Dabgram-Fulbari MLA Sikha Chatterjee, who showed their support and appreciation for Mahima’s hard work and dedication.
Reports reveal that Mahima’s mother, being the sole breadwinner in the absence of her father, worked as a day laborer. The news of Mahima’s remarkable success was prominently highlighted in Siliguri Journal, bringing well-deserved attention to her accomplishment.
In light of this, OC Prasenjit Dey Sarkar, accompanied by MLA Sikha Chatterjee, visited Mahima’s residence in Telipara, Siliguri, extending their support and offering assistance. Meanwhile, Mahima and her family expressed heartfelt gratitude and joy for the unexpected gesture of kindness.
On this occasion, the MLA emphasized that none of the students from Siliguri made it onto the state’s merit list, underscoring the significance of Mahima’s accomplishment. Her achievement stands out as particularly commendable in light of this observation.
