Siliguri, Dec 25 (Siliguri Journal) – Pradhan Nagar police station nabbed a person in Hyderabad for a sexual assault case. The person, Mohammad Ajit from Salbari in Siliguri, has been taken into custody.
The minor was coming back from the market when the accused reportedly stopped her, took her phone number, and later befriended her over the phone. Subsequently, the accused allegedly called her to an isolated place and sexually assaulted her. Furthermore, the minor was warned not to reveal the incident.
Five months later, the minor’s health declined, leading her family to seek medical attention. During a checkup, it was revealed that the victim was five months pregnant. Following this discovery, the minor disclosed the entire ordeal to her family.
On December 3, the victim’s family filed a written complaint with Pradhan Nagar police station. Acting swiftly, the police located and arrested the accused. He was subsequently taken to Siliguri and presented before the Siliguri Court on Monday. The court ordered a five-day remand for the accused, and the police are now conducting further investigations.
