Rescued Tortoise Emerges from Cooch Behar Reservoir

Cooch Behar, Apr 25 (Siliguri Journal) – On Thursday, a tortoise was saved from a reservoir in the Uttar Khagrabari area of Cooch Behar Block II. Reports suggest that some local youths were fishing in the reservoir when they spotted a turtle. They quickly rescued it and brought it to safety. Soon after, a crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the rescued tortoise.

Upon receiving the alert, officials from the Forest Department, Mohan Raksha Committee, Zilla Parishad, and others rushed to the scene and took custody of the rescued tortoise. It’s reported that after undergoing examination, the tortoise will be released at Baneswar Shiv Dighi.
