Wild Elephant Attack in Kalchini Injures Four, Including Two Children.

Kalchini, Dec 21 (Siliguri Journal) – A wild elephant recently attacked a family of four, including two children, in the Bukimbari Tea Estate region of Kalchini Block. All four members suffered injuries during the incident.

On Wednesday night, reports indicate that a herd of wild elephants invaded the Bukimbari Tea Estate in Kalchini. The tuskers then proceeded to attack Bikash Majhi’s betel nut plantation, a resident of the tea garden, and some elephants even collided with his house during the incident.

Upon learning about the situation, Bikash and his wife attempted to flee the area with their two children. Unfortunately, the wild elephant herd surrounded them, making escape impossible. In a desperate move, they sought refuge under the bed in their house, leading to injuries. Fortunately, local residents came to their rescue, and the family was subsequently taken to Latabari Hospital for medical attention.
