Jalpaiguri, Jan 15 (Siliguri Journal) – Since the morning of Makar Sankranti on Monday, the entire Jalpaiguri district has been enveloped in a thick blanket of fog, accompanied by chilly winds. The minimum temperature has been lingering between 9 to 10 degrees for the past few days. Jubuthubu, a resident of Jalpaiguri, experiences the cold without a glimpse of the sun since morning. Visibility is low in Gramganj’s fields and roads, affecting daily activities. The fog’s intensity is on the rise each day, prompting people to gather at the local tea shop for warmth and companionship.

Makar Sankranti Puja Kicks Off in Jalpaiguri Bengal Villages, Starting Monday Morning, House-to-House

This special day is known as Paush Sankranti or Paush Parvan. Alpana is offered in different houses of Gram Bengal and special puja is performed.
