Tourist from Kolkata, aged 84, Passes Away During Kalimpong Trip

Kalimpong, Dec 29 (Siliguri Journal) – Sad news as 84-year-old Edith Mary Chappell passes away during her visit to Kalimpong. Reports indicate that Edith Mary Chappell, a resident of Muchipara in Durgapur, Bidhannagar, Kolkata, fell critically ill during her trip to Kalimpong. Kalimpong Superintendent of Police Aparajita Rai mentioned that the elderly woman, who came to the hills for a walk, experienced a sudden deterioration in her health.

Subsequently, she was swiftly taken to Kalimpong District Hospital, where medical experts pronounced her dead. Initial medical findings point to a heart attack as the sudden cause of her demise. A post-mortem examination was conducted on the deceased body at Kalimpong District Hospital.
