Naxalbari, May 08 (Siliguri Journal) – On the 25th day of the Bengali month of Baisakh, Naxalbari held a big celebration to honor the birthday of the famous poet Rabindranath Tagore.
On Wednesday morning, Naxalbari Sarada Vidyamandir organized a program where IPS Ashish Kumar, the acting in-charge of Naxalbari police station, paid homage to ‘Kaviguru’ Rabindranath Tagore by laying flowers at his statue within the police station premises. The event saw the enthusiastic involvement of school teachers and respected community leaders.
Afterwards, a lively procession took place, starting from the police station and winding through different areas. IPS Ashish Kumar highlighted the lasting significance of Kaviguru’s principles, promoting a society built on values of peace, love, and integrity.
