Two Shops Destroyed by Fire at Check Post in Siliguri

A sudden fire at the Siliguri check post destroyed two shops despite quick action from firefighters. The cause is unknown, and an investigation is ongoing.

Siliguri, 22 May (Siliguri Journal) – A devastating fire erupted at the Siliguri check post on Tuesday night, completely destroying two shops. Despite the firefighters’ best efforts, both shops were burned to the ground.

According to reports, the fire started suddenly in a vegetable shop at the check post area and quickly spread to a nearby shop. The Bhakti Nagar police station and the fire department were immediately notified.

Upon being alerted, two fire engines promptly arrived at the scene and brought the fire under control after considerable effort. Fire department personnel stated that they responded immediately upon receiving the alert and managed to extinguish the flames. They added that the cause of the fire remains unknown, and an investigation is currently underway.
