Rajganj, Jun 21 (Siliguri Journal) – On Friday, parents of local students blocked the Ambari-Sahudangi state road, demanding repairs for its deteriorated condition. The road, which runs several kilometers from Sahudangi in the Rajganj block to Ambari, has been in disrepair for a long time, causing major inconveniences for the community.
Earlier on Thursday, local residents had already demonstrated at the Ambari area intersection, demanding urgent road repairs. On Friday, parents gathered in front of a private English medium school near Sahudangi, joining the protest to highlight the difficulties in transporting their children to school.
Later, police from the Ambari outpost arrived promptly, and the blockade was lifted after about half an hour following assurances from the officers. The protesters emphasized the persistent problems caused by the road’s poor condition. They urged immediate repairs and demanded a halt to heavy traffic on the road until the repairs are completed.
