Siliguri, Nov 24 (Siliguri Journal) – Last Friday, the business folks at Bidhan Market took action by sending letters to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Urban Development Minister Firhad Hakim. They’re asking for ownership rights for their shops in Bidhan Market. The Bidhan Market Business Association organized the initiative, starting in the morning and running until 4 p.m.

Reports indicate that Bidhan Market traders have consistently joined protest demonstrations and rallies, persistently advocating for ownership of their stores. Despite being under the jurisdiction of the Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA), it seems the traders’ demands have been overlooked or unaddressed.

In response, the traders have taken the initiative to write to the Chief Minister and Minister of Public Works and Urban Development about the issue. They’ve also issued a caution, indicating the possibility of a large-scale agitation in the future if their demands are not addressed.
