Jalpaiguri, Apr 19 (Siliguri Journal) – The 2024 Lok Sabha elections have started in Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, and Cooch Behar districts of North Bengal, as well as across the rest of the country. Large crowds of voters were seen lining up at Sahudangi Haat PK Roy High School polling booth in Rajganj, part of the Jalpaiguri Lok Sabha constituency. Similar scenes unfolded at various other voting centers across the region.
TMC candidate Nirmal Chandra Roy casts vote in Jalpaiguri
TMC candidate Nirmal Chandra Roy for the Jalpaiguri Lok Sabha constituency cast his vote early Friday morning.
Reports indicate that Roy left his residence in Dhupguri and headed to the polling center. After voting, he paid his respects to his mother at their home and then proceeded to cast his ballot at booth number 15/59 at the Bamantari Additional Primary School.
During his address to the media, Roy mentioned his plan to visit different voting centers in the district. He also acknowledged that the voting process was proceeding smoothly and without any interruptions.
