Prime Accused Pradip Roy Arrested at Siliguri Junction in Ramakrishna Mission Land Grab Case

Siliguri, Jun 02 (Siliguri Journal) – In a major development, the Special Operations Group (SOG) and Bhakti Nagar police arrested Pradip Roy, the main suspect in the Ramakrishna Mission land dispute case. The arrest followed a 12-day operation.

On May 19, land mafia Pradip Roy, along with 30-40 individuals, allegedly attacked the Ramakrishna Mission in Salugara. The group, armed with firearms and sharp weapons, attempted to seize the valuable land. During the attack, they threatened residents and security personnel, forcing them to vacate the premises. The attackers also vandalized CCTV cameras and confiscated cell phones before fleeing. The Ramakrishna Mission filed a formal complaint with the Bhakti Nagar police station, leading to a detailed investigation.

The incident put significant pressure on the state government, prompting law enforcement agencies to intensify their efforts to catch the perpetrators. Initially, Bhakti Nagar police arrested five suspects, followed by three more individuals. Later, Alok Das, the alleged mastermind behind the KGF Group, was apprehended in the Kholachand Fafri area on Friday night.

Following this, the SOG received a tip-off about Pradip Roy, the main accused, attempting to flee the city. In response, the SOG and Bhakti Nagar police heightened surveillance at the exit points. On Saturday evening, the police team stationed at Siliguri Junction arrested Pradip Roy.

On Sunday, Pradip Roy was brought before the Jalpaiguri court. Sources indicate that Bhakti Nagar police will take him into custody for further interrogation. His arrest is expected to provide significant information about the Ramakrishna Mission case.
