SMC Takes Action Against Unauthorized Construction in Ward No. 37 of Siliguri

Siliguri, May 04 (Siliguri Journal) – The Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) is getting tough on unauthorized buildings. They recently tore down a building in the Sarada Pally area of Ward No. 37 in Siliguri.

Sources say that an organization was using an apartment as an office and the building’s parking lot for commercial purposes, which was bothering the residents. Even after several warnings from the municipal corporation, the building’s promoter didn’t take any action. So, on Saturday, the SMC took down the illegal structures.

To make sure everything went smoothly and to avoid any problems, the police were there in large numbers during the demolition.
