Phansidewa, May 19 (Siliguri Journal) – Shock and despair gripped the Mohammad Baksh area of the Jalas-nijamtara Gram Panchayat in Phansidewa block after a young man was found hanging. The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Gomen Singh.
Family sources revealed that Gomen left home after having lunch on Saturday. Later that afternoon, a group of youths were playing football in a nearby field. When their ball went out of bounds, one of them went to retrieve it and discovered Gomen’s body hanging from a tree.
Following this, residents gathered at the scene and immediately reported the incident to the authorities. The Phansidewa police arrived, recovered the body, and transported it to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination. An investigation has been initiated to determine the circumstances surrounding Gomen’s death.
