Siliguri, May 06 (Siliguri Journal) – The police in Pradhan Nagar have taken into custody a person who is accused of making a young person commit suicide. The person arrested is named Satyam Sarkar and is 23 years old. According to reports, a minor took her own life in the Samar Nagar locality just two days ago. This tragic incident prompted an investigation into what led to her death.
Yesterday, the mother of the deceased minor lodged a complaint at the Pradhan Nagar police station. She accused Satyam Sarkar of manipulating her daughter into a romantic relationship, causing her severe mental distress, and then using blackmail against her. The complaint stated that Satyam’s actions drove the minor to end her own life.
Responding promptly, the police launched an investigation and quickly apprehended Satyam Sarkar from the Pradhan Nagar police station’s jurisdiction. He was arrested on charges of blackmail and encouraging suicide. On Monday, Satyam Sarkar was brought before the Siliguri court for further legal action.
