Bagdogra, May 18 (Siliguri Journal) – In a tragic event, an elderly man was fatally struck by a train in Gossainpur, Bagdogra. According to reports, local residents discovered the body on the railway tracks in the Gossainpur area. They promptly informed the police about the incident.
Upon receiving the news, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) from Bagdogra railway station and officers from Bagdogra police station arrived at the scene. They recovered the body and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been determined. Officials believe the incident might have happened while the man was crossing the railway tracks. The police are currently conducting a detailed investigation.
