Rajganj, Jan 03 (Siliguri Journal) – Jalpaiguri MP Jayanta Kumar Roy recently visited Ambari and Belakoba railway stations in Rajganj. During his trip, he talked with the local residents and railway officials to understand their concerns and viewpoints.
The Siliguri to Jalpaiguri region, known for its dense population, heavily relies on train travel for commuting. Residents have persistently advocated for infrastructure expansion, particularly requesting extended train stoppages at Ambari, Belakoba, and Raninagar railway stations to enhance connectivity.
While inspecting the railway stations, the MP took the opportunity to update the local residents, assuring them that he is actively engaging with Ministry of Railways officials to address and resolve their concerns.
MP Jayanta Kumar Roy mentioned that the railway station in Rajganj block previously had several train stops, but they were temporarily closed during the pandemic lockdown. In response to public demand, efforts are being made to reinstate long-distance train stoppages, along with addressing needs for drinking water facilities and lavatories.
The MP emphasized that his visit to the railway stations provided insights into the diverse infrastructure needs. To address these requirements, he pledged to discuss the issues with Ministry of Railways authorities and work towards finding effective solutions.
