Siliguri, Nov 22 (Siliguri Journal) – Siliguri is making big strides in improving city transportation. The Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) is now working on widening Burdwan Road on both sides.

Reports indicate that the expansion of the road extends from the new Burdwan Road flyover to Tinbatti More on both sides. This enhancement is a response to the growing traffic in the city due to increased vehicle numbers.
The Public Works Department (PWD) is actively involved in construction near Jalpaimore. Mayor Goutam Deb and Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar visited the construction site on Wednesday, inspecting both the roadwork and surrounding areas.
Mayor Goutam Deb shared details, mentioning the road’s extension by 12 feet on both sides using paver blocks for a smoother surface. To make room, the market near Jalpaimore will be removed.
The Mayor assured discussions with store owners for alternative arrangements. Additionally, SF Road is set to expand, incurring a cost of Rs 7 crore. Exciting improvements coming up!
