Rajganj, Jan 20 (Siliguri Journal) – In a determined move, the women of Ambari blocked roads, raising their voices to demand the shutdown of a licensed liquor shop. Reports indicate that a departmental store started operating in Chakiabhita, Ambari, around 7 months ago, with the sale of foreign liquor commencing just a month ago. On Saturday, women staged a two-hour demonstration in front of the licensed liquor shop, blocking the road in protest.

The women asserted that the liquor shop jeopardized the local environment, prompting them to approach the administration for its closure. Despite their efforts, no action was taken. They warned of a potential large-scale movement if their demands continued to be ignored.
