SMC Dismantles Unauthorized Construction in Ward No. 18, Siliguri

Siliguri, Nov 28 (Siliguri Journal) – Siliguri’s city authorities, known as the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC), are taking strong action to stop buildings that shouldn’t be there. Just this Tuesday, they tore down a building that was put up without permission in Ward No. 18 of Siliguri.

Reports indicate that a building was unlawfully erected above a pharmacy next to the Siliguri District Hospital. The Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) gave three warnings to the store owner before the demolition. With no resolution after numerous complaints, the SMC took matters into its own hands. On the specified day, SMC officials went to the site and took down the unauthorized construction.
