Kharibari, Nov 28 (Siliguri Journal) – In the latest update on the case involving Pakistani woman Shaista Hanif, who was arrested for entering India illegally at the India-Nepal border in Panitanki, it’s important to mention that Shaista has appealed to stay in India. She made this plea before her upcoming court appearance.
On Tuesday, the woman, on her way to court from Kharibari police station, reportedly asserted her innocence. She explained her intention to come to India, citing blood relations with the country. Faced with the unavailability of an Indian visa, she attempted entry through Nepal but was apprehended upon crossing the border.
In connection to this, Shaista Hanif has made an appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Minister of the state, urging permission to stay in the country. Drawing attention to a similar case, she questioned why Seema Haider has been allowed to reside in India, emphasizing her own request for fair consideration. Additionally, Shaista expressed her wish to live with her sister in India.
