TMC Sends 10-Member Delegation to Assess Storm Damage in Maynaguri

TMC delegation visits storm-hit Maynaguri, questions unequal aid distribution between Assam and Bengal; highlights need for support.

Siliguri, Apr 12 (Siliguri Journal) – A team of 10 members from the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has arrived in Siliguri to check out the areas hit by a cyclonic storm in Maynaguri, Jalpaiguri district. On Friday, the delegation arrived at Bagdogra Airport from both Delhi and Kolkata. From there, they headed straight to the storm-affected Barnes village in Maynaguri, Jalpaiguri.

After their visit, the team is scheduled to join TMC General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee’s public rally in Dhupguri.

The 10-member delegation consisted of Dola Sen, Nadimul Haque, Shantanu Sen, Vivek Gupta, Sudip Raha, Derek O’ Brien, Sagarika Raha, Saket Gokhale, Abir Ranjan Biswas, and Arpita Ghosh.

The delegation members expressed that while assistance was extended to the affected areas in Assam, similar support was lacking in Bengal.
