Election Staff Deployed to Polling Centers in Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Cooch Behar for April 19th Voting

Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Cooch Behar gear up for Lok Sabha elections, Enhanced security and meticulous planning ensure smooth polling process.

Jalpaiguri, Apr 18 (Siliguri Journal) – This Friday marks the start of the Lok Sabha elections in Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Cooch Behar. Workers have already started arriving at the voting centers since Thursday to get ready for their duties.

Reports indicate that two Distribution/Dispersion Center and Receipt Centers (DCRCs) have been set up in Jalpaiguri district, located at Jalpaiguri Engineering College and Malbazar College. Polling officials are already gearing up, gathering essential equipment such as Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) boxes, and getting ready to head out to the polling stations.

In Jalpaiguri district this year, there are a total of 1,885,963 voters, with 985,811 male voters and 927,339 female voters. The voting will take place at 1,904 booths across the district, with 149 booths being solely managed by female workers.

Voting is set to begin at 7 AM and run until 6 PM at each booth, with central forces deployed and CCTV surveillance in place. The administration is vigilant to ensure smooth and peaceful voting in the areas.
