Cooch Behar, Nov 27 (Siliguri Journal) – A sad event happened when two villages had a disagreement about Jagadhatri Puja immersion. One person lost their life, and four others got hurt. This happened on Sunday night in the Mechkoka area of Bara Kodali I Gram Panchayat under Tufanganj-II Block.
On Sunday night, a disagreement over Jagadhatri Puja immersion led to a fight between residents of two villages. Both sides were accused of assault, resulting in severe injuries to five individuals. The Baxirhat police station responded promptly upon receiving the news, arriving at the scene.
After the incident, the injured were promptly taken to Tufanganj Divisional Hospital. Sadly, Anup Dakua (35) among them was declared brought dead. At the same time, police increased vigilance in the area, detaining two suspects during the night.
