Rajganj, Apr 25 (Siliguri Journal) – In the Palpara area of Majhiali Gram Panchayat, tragedy struck when an elderly woman was hit by a motorbike on the Rajganj-Gadra state road. The woman, identified as Kanduri Nechha (62), tragically lost her life in the accident. She was a resident of the Moni Jote area of Majhiali Gram Panchayat.
According to the information received, on Thursday morning, the elderly woman went to the field to tie up a cow. On her way back, a speeding motorbike from Gadra accidentally collided with her. As a result, she fell onto the road and sustained serious injuries.
Following the incident, the locals acted swiftly, rescuing her and rushing her to Kalinagar Sub-Health Centre. However, due to the severity of her condition, she was referred to Rajganj Rural Hospital, where unfortunately, the doctors pronounced her dead. The tragic event has plunged her family members into a state of mourning.
Upon receiving the news, officers from Rajganj police station promptly arrived at the scene and confiscated the motorbike, which they then took to the police station for further investigation. Presently, the police are thoroughly examining the entire incident to gather more details.
