Siliguri Duo Nabbed for Taking Bike Under False Test-Ride Claim

Bike theft foiled: Quick police action leads to arrest of fraudsters Shanshak and Prakash, ensuring justice for victim Rehan in Jalpaiguri court.

Siliguri, Nov 23 (Siliguri Journal) – In a surprising turn of events near Bhakti Nagar Police station, two impostors pretending to be customers took off with a bike, claiming it was for a test ride. Luckily, the police swiftly apprehended the culprits. The suspects, Shanshak Chakraborty from Majhabari and Prakash Shikdar from Chayan Para, are now in custody.

As per reports, Rehan Thapa, residing in Sahid Nagar (Ward No. 43, Bhakti Nagar police station area), posted pictures of his bike for sale on a social platform. On November 19, Shanshak and Prakash got in touch with Rehan, visited his place to inspect the bike, and cunningly fled with it during what was supposed to be a test ride.

Following the incident, Rehan lodged a written complaint about the bike theft at Bhakti Nagar police station. In response, the police promptly launched an investigation. Within hours, Shanshak and Prakash were apprehended with the stolen bike. On Thursday, the accused were presented in the Jalpaiguri court, facing charges of fraud and theft. The police are currently conducting additional investigations into the matter.
