Cooch Behar, Mar 10 (Siliguri Journal) – In a tragic accident, a person named Balram Barman lost his life when he was struck by a train in the Khaterbari area, located within the Hazrahat-II Gram Panchayat of Mathabhanga Block-1 in Cooch Behar district.
According to local sources, the unfortunate incident occurred because Balram was under the influence of alcohol when he walked onto the train tracks. Upon learning of the incident, the Mathabhanga police promptly responded, recovered the deceased’s body from the scene, and transported it to the Mathabhanga mortuary for further examination through a post-mortem.
The police are currently conducting further investigations into the incident. Meanwhile, the tragic event has plunged the entire Barman family into a state of mourning.
