Rajganj, Dec 30 (Siliguri Journal) – This Saturday, the Paghalu Para Yubak Sangha took the lead in hosting a special day-night football tournament. The 29th edition kicked off with the inauguration by Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy at the Paghalu Para ground near Sahudangi, part of the Binnaguri Gram Panchayat in the Rajganj block.
Sabhapati Rupali Dey Sarkar from the Rajganj Panchayat Samiti, Binnaguri Gram Panchayat Pradhan Samijuddin Ahmed, Upa-Pradhan Minati Roy, along with Rabindranath Roy, Prafulla Roy, Rajesh Roy, and various other community representatives graced the occasion with their presence.
Reports indicate the participation of 16 teams from diverse areas in the tournament. Excitingly, the victorious teams will receive an array of prizes, including a champion trophy, runners-up trophy, and a fair play trophy. Additionally, cash rewards will be presented to the deserving winners.
Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy commented on the event, mentioning the organization of a one-day football tournament by Paghalu Para Yubak Sangha in the Binnaguri area of Rajganj block. Expressing his joy, he highlighted his annual tradition of attending the tournament and witnessing the matches, just as he has done in previous years.
