Siliguri, Oct 10 (Siliguri Journal) – Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) stepped up to help flood victims in Sevoke Bazar. Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, Municipal Commissioner Sonam Wangdi Bhutia, Member of Mayor-Council (MMIC), and the Borough Chairperson were all part of this thoughtful initiative. They worked together to distribute essential relief supplies, showing strong community support.
Reports indicate that the recent natural disasters in Sikkim have significantly affected many individuals along the Teesta River. The areas near the riverbank, which were home to several displaced people, have been particularly impacted. Many affected individuals have sought shelter in relief camps for support and assistance.
This Tuesday, Mayor Goutam Deb and the SMC took the lead in distributing essential supplies to residents affected by the floods in Sevoke Bazar. Along with food items, the victims were also given emergency medications for their immediate needs.
